From the bestselling author of The Secret of Ella and Micha comes a mesmerizing novel of fate, friendship, and the healing power of love . . . THE COINCIDENCE OF CALLIE & KAYDENFor Kayden, suffering in silence was the only way to survive. If he was lucky, he could keep his head down, do as he was told, and make it through the day. But one night it seemed like his luck-and his life-might finally end . . . until an angel named Callie appeared just in time to rescue him.Callie has never believed in luck. Not since her twelfth birthday when everything was taken from her. After the worst was over, she locked up her feelings and vowed never to tell anyone what happened. Now, six years later, she continues to struggle with the painful secret that threatens to consume her. When fate lands Kayden and Callie at the same college, Kayden is determined to get to know the beautiful girl who changed his destiny. Quiet and reserved, Callie still fears letting anyone else into her world. But Kayden is certain that Callie has come back into his life for a reason. And the more he tries to be a part of her life, the more he realizes that, this time, it's Callie who needs to be saved . . .

My ThoughtsGreen swirlsWow!  Just friggin’ WOW!!!  I know I should wait a couple of days before reviewing but I don’t think the book could be any more “absorbed” by me if I tried.  It’s incredible!

It’s about 4 young college students in their first year of college and they each carry a world of hurt and secrets with them.  Three (Callie, Kayden and Luke) are from the same town and grew up together and one (Seth) they met at college.  In college they seem to be a bit happier because they all “escaped” away from where the hurt originated but they all suffer with daily triggers that set them back as well.  All four have secrets that the others are not aware of.  Some knows portions but I don’t believe that anyone knows all. The four are growing very close and I believe that these four will help each other to a place where they can all heal.  However, it’s going to take a lot more trust from each.

The series is mainly about Callie and Kayden but we learn a bit about Luke and Seth as well. These two supporting characters are just as amazing as Callie and Kayden so I hope to hear more about these two in the next books. Seth is a huge part of Callie’s life and Luke is a huge part of Kayden’s so I’m sure we’ll hear more of them.

I can’t get too much into the details without being spoilery but suffice it to say that this book is absolutely amazing to read even though some of the content is severely hard to read as far as “topic” goes. It’s fiction but it’s so very real that reading this book stirs so much anger, disgust and rage in me that it’s like it’s happening in my backyard!   That’s some good writing when you can stir up those kinds of emotions in readers.

The good thing is that there are also some very cute and funny parts that you actually have to chuckle and laugh as well so it’s very well balanced.   Jessica Sorensen is fantastic at her craft!   I read her Young Adult books and couldn’t get enough of them so I was surprised that this is actually not Young Adult even though it’s college kids.   Personally I would still consider it YA, but because of the swearing and sexual content I would assume that it was bunted from that category.   It makes absolutely no difference to me what category it’s in because I would recommend it to anyone.   Particularly young adults who are going through the same thing.

Bravo!  Loved it!  Can’t wait for book 2.

Awesome I loved it
