Siren In Bloom is book #6 in the Texas Sirens series by Sophie Oak.
Sophie Oak has kicked out yet another kick-ass steamy romantic snack. I know these books were written quite some time ago now, but I’ve just recently had the utmost pleasure of enjoying them. I am totally hooked on these characters and completely in love with this series.
In addition to connecting with some older and very dear to me characters from earlier books in this series we also got to meet a few new ones that I already know will become favourites.
Leo has been a favourite of mine since the earlier books and he finally got his own. Well, him and his brother did. It was a really great story with hot sexy menage scenes but also a couple of brother’s lives were brought back together and a lot of healing was going on… and I loved every minute of it!
… is such a force. He has been a force all along but we finally got to see a really vulnerable side to him and man, I gotta tell you, he’s so freakin’ adorable and so is his hot… and I mean pass out from lack of air steamy hot… brother, Wolf. I still like Leo’s longer hair though! *wink*
… felt distanced for quite some time from Leo and it appears that Leo had issues with acceptance and commitment which sort of drove a wedge between them. Wolf wants a relationship with his brother again because he misses him terribly and he’s hoping that Shelley can help with that.
… is fantastic! We met her in the last book with her brother, Trevor. She has had a lot of shit go down in her short little life and it isn’t quite over yet. That’s where Leo and Wolf come in. She fell in love with Leo a long time ago, but she also said some nasty hurtful things to Leo awhile back and now she thinks he hates her and she has no chance with him so she’s trying to move on with someone else.
The rest of the gang pops in from time to time throughout the book and it’s so much fun to meet up with them again. They are all such fantastic characters. Julian Lodge is the kingpin in these books and as tough as nails (and a little scary) that this guy is, he’s still one of the sweetest people. He’s a friggin’ matchmaker and a good one. He also has a huge vulnerable side which we’ve seen before, but through other people in this story we found out that he kind of missed his best friend, who just happens to be Leo. So there was a distance that had to be healed between these two characters as well.
The family dynamic that Sophie Oak brings to all of these books in this series is so heart-warming. It’s just a feel-good cozy sensation that you get in your heart when you know that all of the characters deeply care about each other. The camaraderie and sarcastic humour is brilliant.
Sophie Oak is an amazing writer! She weaves a story like no other and her characters are phenomenal. She gives the perfect balance of sexy hot romance and suspenseful action to keep you interested and on your toes and never ever bored. She also brings reality to her relationship issues. Yes, menage is not necessarily the “norm” unless you are in the lifestyle, but the self-image issues and self-doubt issues etc. are very real. I quite simply adore her. Her characters always seem to take up residence in my heart so I’m so glad that she keeps bringing them back for an update. Mega huge fan!!!
