Wicked Draven is the last man in the world Diana should be fantasizing about. The cocky tiger shifter is arrogant, unscrupulous, and sometimes cruel. He’s also the only one who can help her rescue her brother from his death sentence. Just one more reason why she shouldn’t be imagining his lips on her neck, her body wrapped around his in the heat of passion…
Draven isn’t the kind of man that allows himself to be manipulated by anything -- not even fate. When he lays eyes on Diana and his mating instincts fire off wildly, he pushes his tiger’s desires aside and concentrates on his goal: free the brother, get the all-too-tempting female out of his life for good. The last thing he needs in his life is a new weakness, and uptight, morally upstanding Diana can be nothing but…
Thrown together in an impossible race against time, Draven and Diana will have to navigate the choppy waters between them as they try to save a man’s life. Will their explosive chemistry lead to a soul-deep connection, or will it just distract them from their mission?
Are Diana and Draven too stubborn to give in, or will the mating curse ultimately bring them together?
I took part in Amelie Hunt’s Arc Wave promo. Whoever signed up was given (for an honest review) five series of three books each of ARC’s from five different authors to read and review by October 9th. These are all novellas and I was a little stumped on how I was going to do up the reviews, but decided to break them into five posts with each having all three books by the same author.
So let’s get started!
Scoundrel is book #1 in the Emerald Isle Tigers series by Cass Reynolds.
I have not had the pleasure of reading Cass Reynolds before this and YESSSSS! I’m a fan!
I love the world that she created in this story. It’s very different. I have read a lot of shifter stories, but this one is tigers among other shifters and I have not read any tiger shifter stories before now. There is shifters and magic, mayhem and romance and a lot of sarcasm. What’s not to love?
Draven is awesome! He’s perfectly cranky and I love him! Diana is pretty cool herself and there is more to her to be seen I think. I’m sure we’ll get the rest of that story in future books. The other characters seem to have stories to be told as well. Can’t wait for them all.
The writing flowed nicely and I found the pace and time wonderful. I loved this book. The dialogue threw me off a bit at first. It seemed very historic in the beginning but then very quickly modern day language was thrown in there too. I’m sure it’s all part of the unique world.
In A Nutshell:
Loved it! Can’t wait for more!
