Psychologist Kai Ferguson has had his eye on Kori Williamson for a long time. His assistant is everything he’s ever wanted in a partner—smart, caring, witty, and a bit of a masochist. More than a little, actually, but that’s the problem. Kori won’t admit her own desires. She’s afraid of him and what he has to offer. Luckily for her, helping patients face their fears is one of his specialties.

Kori knows she wants Kai. Her boss is the most amazing man she’s ever met. She’s also smart enough to stay away from him. Having been down this road before, she knows it only leads to heartache. She’s just found a place where she can belong. Another failed relationship is the last thing she needs. It’s better to guard her heart and let Kai think she’s frightened of his dark, dominant nature.

When Kai is recruited for an operation with McKay-Taggart, everything is turned upside down. Kai’s brother, international superstar Jared Johns, is in town and Kai must juggle his family issues along with a desperate hunt for a serial killer. The investigation throws Kori and Kai together, and they quickly discover the chemistry between them is undeniable. But even if their new found love can survive his secrets and her lies, it may not be enough to save them both from a killer’s twisted obsession.

From Sanctum With Love is book #10 in the EPIC Masters and Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake!

If you read my book blog at all you’ll know what a massive fan I am of the lovely and ridiculously talented, Lexi Blake! I truly cannot get enough of the Masters and Mercenaries world and the people in it. I recently lost my Mom and I swear if it weren’t for this fictional world and the amazing characters in that world, I would not have made it through. Well, maybe I’m not giving myself enough credit.  I would have made it, but these characters definitely helped! Ian Taggart and his merry band of misfits kept me company during those long days and nights when I was sitting with Mom.  In addition to that, Lexi’s sarcastic humour cheers me up whenever I’m down, which is a lot these days.

These aren’t just romance books about lots of hot BDSM sex and sexy Dom voices that put you to your knees. No! They are so very much more than that. They are cozy-comfy-snuggly-bear-hug-feel-good books. The stories are always real life issues that are weaved throughout all the hot fun. The ups and downs throughout the book are a roller coaster ride, but by the end you’re happy and you feel good for not only the characters, but yourself too. I’ve said it before and I don’t mind saying it again… Lexi Blake is a fucking genius!

This book was Kai & Kori’s story. Awesome! Just awesome! Kai is the resident psychiatrist for Sanctum. Eve McKay (previous books) helps him out sometimes, but she’s more for McKay-Taggart and profiling. Kai is a sadist but he’s a sweet sexy adorable sadist who has Kori’s heart all tied up in knots. The relationship between Kai & Kori is perfect. They are totally made for each other. Kai brings Kori up and over her well constructed brick wall.

This book though had me more invested in the relationship between him and his brother Jared. It’s only partially solved so I hope that Jared gets his own book later down the road either as a novella or something because I need to see this story through to the end. I need an HEA for Jared too. He’s got a lot more healing to do and Kai is just beginning the healing from their relationship.  Plus he’s got Kori. I need more and I know Lexi will bring it. Jared it not part of McKay-Taggart so I’m guessing he’ll be part of Sanctum novellas… and I’m sure Sara will be there too!  *wink wink*

Don’t even get me started on the rest of the team. Yes this was Kai’s book, but as with all of Lexi’s books we got to touch base with most of the rest of the team (I missed Adam & Jake this time) and let me tell you there is a buttload of stuff going on there. Lexi is dropping bits and pieces all over the pages about what’s to come and I for one cannot friggin’ wait! The next couple of books I believe is what I’ve been waiting for since two books and a novella ago. (Roughly) Sneaky little brat! She said this story was going to play out over the next several books and she wasn’t kidding. We get teasers and hints with each book and it’s coming to an EPIC explosion in the next couple of books {is my guess} and WOW!  Just WOW!  It’s going to be so amazing and I can’t wait! Lexi is able to give you just enough to keep you going and build that tension and anticipation to boiling. It’s going to be a fantastic ride… and already has been so far.

In A Nutshell:

If there is anyone out there who has not read Masters and Mercenaries and all of the novellas in between you have to get your butts to the library, bookstore or online to get those ebooks. They are truly amazing reads. Start from the beginning and do not miss a single one of them. They will become part of your whole world. I promise!

From Sanctum With Love is amazing and so is Lexi Blake! Next up:  Dominance Never Dies
