Good meals, good times, good friends.
Oh what a treat this was! We have not only a catch up on some of our most beloved characters from both Masters and Mercenaries, but Topped as well… all wrapped up with some recipes that are served at Top.
I’ll tell you right now that my favourite is the Grilled Cheese recipes! They bring back memories right from book #1, which was Sean & Grace’s story. It’s like the go-to comfort snack when you’re up all hours of the night plotting and planning how to catch the bad guys. Unless of course you’re Ian and want a pizza made from scratch because you’re drunk and don’t even know that Sean isn’t the pizza man, but that’s another story.
This was an absolute delight in so many ways. I laughed so hard with the very first story in this book. It was about Ian & Charlie and their brood, which now includes a dog! Seriously! Tears-streaming-down-my-face funny! You can’t get any better than that!
A catch up on Simon & Chelsea which brings a little bit of sunshine my way. I was hoping for some news like this.
Things are changing a bit in the Adam, Jake & Serena world… not too much, but a change nonetheless. Also, I love love love what Ian did to Serena’s books! Such a great idea!
Sean & Grace had a lovely little moment in their come back story and it was a pleasure to catch up with them.
A couple more are in there and they were just as great. I love Macon!
The thing I love most about the books between each of the Masters and Mercenaries books is that we not only get a story about a new couple either at Sanctum or at Top, but we also get bits and pieces of information about all of our favourite characters. Little hints and updates for each of them are poked in between the lines, and sometimes they actually make cameo appearances. It’s fantastic.
It’s genius actually! For people who read just the Masters and Mercenaries books you have no idea what you’re missing if you don’t read all the novellas too. All of the Sanctum novellas and Topped novellas are brilliant. I promise you!
Again, another phenomenal release from my favourite author! Who knew that a cookbook could get you so hot? Apparently Lexi Blake did! Genius idea!
