Eight years after being tossed aside by the husband who took her son away, Holly Lang finds herself caught between two lovers - the exotic and dangerous Alexei Markov and the gentle but haunted Dr. Caleb Burke.

A former hit man for the Russian mafia, Alexei has been in witness protection while he testified against the mob. Now that he is done, he will do anything to earn Holly's love.

Dr. Caleb Burke is a walking contradiction. His love for Holly is obvious, but he keeps her at a distance. Underneath his gruff demeanor is a tortured soul that only Holly can heal.

As their passions burn out of control, Alexei and Caleb discover someone is trying to kill her. The only way to discover the identity of the killer is for all three to face up to the secrets of their past and work together to fight for everything they have found in Bliss.

My Thoughts Green swirls

Found In Bliss is book #5 in the fantastic Nights In Bliss, Colorado series by Sophie Oak.

Another fabulous read from Sophie Oak!  This one brings a familiar face back to Bliss in the form a big sexy Russian teddy bear named Alexei Markov. He’s from a couple of books back and he’s been trying desperately to get his ass back to Bliss and back to Holly… and the good doctor Caleb Burke. He has a plan to keep these two people in his life but he needs cooperation from the adorably stubborn and cantankerous Dr. Burke… and that’s not easy. All three have some things to work through and they seem to do it better together than apart. With outside forces trying to keep these three from happiness it makes for an exciting adventure.

I loved this book!

There are so many good things about Found In Bliss but my most favourite part is the dialogue that Sophie Oak uses for Alexei’s voice showing his language barrier. Oh my God it is incredibly funny. She has him speaking English, as well as he can, using things he learned from TV shows and it’s simply hilarious! Sophie Oak tends to make me laugh a lot while reading her books because she simply has the most amazing humourous dialogue, but this one was even funnier because of the writing for Alexei’s character.  Absolutely brilliant!

Beyond the humour and amazing dialogue, the story itself was really awesome. I felt particularly close to Caleb. I love Holly and Alexei too, but Caleb’s story was heart wrenching and hard to hear. It explained his cranky character from previous books and I really enjoyed reading his story. I’ve been waiting for his story for a couple of books now and it was so worth it.

Again, like with all of the books in the series, Sophie Oak brings all of her characters back throughout the book. I love this. It’s one of my favourite things about this series as well as the Texas Sirens series. It keeps us up to date with our favourites and we know they’re never too far away. When you finish reading a story and fall in love with a character you’re not sad because you know you’ll get to hear from them again in the next book.

I love the writing and the humour! I love the stories and the characters! I love the whole concept of a small town with people who love and watch out for each other like family members. They are all weird and unique in their own little ways and yet no one sticks out because of the acceptance and love they have for one another. One should be so lucky to stumble upon such a place.

There were some pretty hot scenes in this one, but others not so much. I was just missing something and I can’t even quite put my finger on it.

Again another hit out of the park with this one from Sophie Oak. Love her writing and cannot wait for more. I will read anything I can get my hands on by her.

About Sophie Oak

A lifetime devotee to the written word, Sophie published her first novel this year. Prior to becoming a novelist, she worked in theater and comic books. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and three precocious children, who wonder when mom is going to write a book they will be allowed to read. Her answer: probably never. Sophie believes in happy endings for everyone, no matter how extreme the story. Her stories may feature some of the fringe elements of sexuality, but at heart they are always about love.
