A lonely girl, a beautiful boy and a load of terrifying vampires. Think you’ve seen it before? Well get ready for a shock, because this is paranormal romance with a twist... and a razor-sharp bite. Welcome to Evernight school. Don’t chew gum. Don’t feed on humans. Try not to die... Bianca is devastated when she finds herself uprooted from her small town and sent to Evernight Academy, an elite boarding school. Hidden in the woods, there's something more than a little creepy about her mysterious new home... Soon Bianca discovers she could never fit in with the Evernight students – they're just too sleek, sophisticated and beautiful to be real. Just when Bianca has resigned herself to being lonely forever, she meets Lucas – an outcast like Bianca, even if he’s way too hot to possibly be interested in her. Lucas is on a mission to uncover the secret behind Evernight Academy – but he has his own secrets, and so does Bianca. Both of them are about to discover that secrets can be very dangerous things, and that a simple kiss can change your life forever... or end it.

My Thoughts

Green swirls

I happened upon this series quite by accident while hunting down another series. It seemed to be right up my alley with vampires etc so I bought it. I had it on my bookshelf for a bit and just dove into it on the weekend. I finished it in one day!! It’s absolutely fantastic! I loved it! Claudia Gray (aka Amy Vincent) truly knows how to grab your attention on page one and just builds and builds and builds on a story right to the very last page. I started the sequel (Stargazer) last night. Just like the first one… page one started out with a bang!

Bianca is the daughter of two vamps. She herself will also be a vampire. It’s her destiny being born to two vampires which is extremely rare. She attends a private school where her parents teach and finds out that not all of the students are vampires… some are human. She falls head over heals in love with a boy named Lucas who turns out to be a member of Black Cross, which is a secret vampire hunter group. Now she is torn between her family who she loves and Lucas whom she also loves. Both are mortal enemies and she’s stuck in the middle.

Can’t wait to read more from Ms. Gray.

About Claudia Gray

Claudia Gray is not my real name. I didn’t choose a pseudonym because my real name is unpleasant (it isn’t), because I’d always dreamed of calling myself this (I haven’t) or even because I’m hiding from the remnants of that international diamond-smuggling cartel I smashed in 2003 (Interpol has taken care of them). In short, I took a pseudonym for no real reason whatsoever. Sometimes this is actually the best reason to do things.

I live in New Orleans. So far, in life, I’ve been a disc jockey, a lawyer, a journalist and an extremely bad waitress, just to name a few. I especially like to spend time traveling, hiking, reading and listening to music. More than anything else, I enjoy writing.
